So far though, you can play for free via Facebook or other social networks.

And if you're in Las Vegas this weekend, you can attend Zynga's very first Poker Con.

Aria Poker Room

Aria Poker Room

The ARIA poker room has some of the best comps in town, with $2 per hour and $3 per hour from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.

But in addition to that, play 5 hours a day and you’ll be able to stay in the fancy rooms for only $99 from Sunday-Thursday and $139 for Friday-Saturday (plus taxes and resort fees).

Even better, it isn’t just cash games.  Just play in a $125 or greater tournament each day and show your receipt, and you’ll also get the discount -- even if you don't last 5 hours.

Gold Coast poker room closes

Sadly, when we stopped by Gold Coast’s poker room over the weekend, we found the above sign.

We enjoyed the rollicking poker room at Gold Coast, full of action-oriented locals in limit games this side of the California card barns.

That was when the poker room was near the back of the casino near the steakhouse.

Then it renovated and was moved toward the front, to the south of TGI Fridays.

The Venetian Las Vegas, Deep Stack Extravaganza, poker tournament

Competing with the tail end of the Caesars Winter Poker Classic, the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza is running now through Feb. 24.

Four times a year, this tournament is one of the best in Las Vegas.  We think it's second to the World Series of Poker, in terms of the players it draws, the types of tournaments, the structure, and just how well run the whole thing is.

Events range from $220 super satellites to $340-$550 buy-ins to no-limit hold'em, to the $5,000 main event beginning Feb. 20.

Two men exploit bug in video poker machines, defraud casinos

Posted by clark | Posted in Las Vegas Gaming, Las Vegas News, Las Vegas News Blog, Pokerstars, Prof's Vegas Poker Blog, R.C. Clark | Posted on 07-01-2011

Jackpot

Two men have been exploiting a bug in video poker machines that took them from Pennsylvania to Las Vegas.  Crossing state lines makes it a federal crime, and because of that they’re up for conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

The criminal complaint (PDF published here on Wired.com’s site) states that John Kane and Andre Nestor “knowingly and intentionally defrauded gaming machines” to the tune of $429,000 over 60-some wins, all within a couple months in 2009.

M Resort, Las Vegas, free, poker, free gifts, comps

Yep, the M Resort is the only casino in town that will reward poker play with not just bottles of wine but other gifts as well.

These are the same gifts that you'll see M slot players walking around the casino with, only you won't be expected to lose as much, as you'll just need to put in a couple hours of poker.  What's more, you'll still earn your $1/hour poker comps.
