2011 WSOP November Nine with Jack Effel, Tournament Director
Today begins the long awaited conclusion of the 2011 WSOP Main Event final table that went on break in July after reaching the final nine players.
Eight of the nine players will leave millionaires while the first out will pocket just over three quarters of a million dollars. The winner takes home the World Poker Championship title, almost nine million in cash plus poker's most elusive treasure, the gold and diamond championship bracelet.

NBC has announced the cancellation of one of the sports most prestigious poker tournament, the invitation only NBC National Heads-up Poker Tournament (NHUPT). Beginning in 2005 and continuing every spring at Caesars Palace, the 64 player field included the world's best poker players, a few poker playing celebrities and a couple of lucky satellite winners in a poker tournament based on the single elimination format of college basketball's championship in March.

Major media reported Friday a tentative purchase agreement between Full Tilt Poker and Groupe Bernard Tapie will result in the sale of Full Tilt to the French businessman, Bernard Tapia. Chris Ferguson's lawyer declares, Full Tilt no Ponzi scheme
Alderney Gaming Control Commission (AGCC) on the British Channel Islands revoked Full Tilt Poker's online license on Thursday saying the site lied to regulators about its finances. Without a valid gaming license the supposed sale of Full Tilt to an unnamed investor prepared to repay Full Tilt players would be DOA according to Full Tilt lawyer, Jeff Ifrah.
